Every  animal that arrives at Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Centre represents a life that depends on timely, professional veterinary care. Community donations make it possible for us to provide free wildlife veterinary treatment to injured and unwell native animals across South Australia.

Below you’ll find answers to common questions about donating, how funds are used, and how your support helps wildlife recover and return to the wild.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes. Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Centre is a registered Australian not-for-profit charity. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided for eligible contributions.

How are donations used?

Community donations directly fund free wildlife veterinary care.

Your support helps cover:

• Veterinary examinations and emergency stabilisation
• Diagnostic imaging and laboratory testing
• Medications and fluid therapy
• Ongoing clinical treatment and monitoring
• Care until an animal is strong enough to return to the wild

Government funding supports core operational costs. Donations from the community enable us to deliver and expand clinical care for the animals who need it most.

What animals benefit from donations?

We provide veterinary treatment to koalas and a wide range of South Australian native wildlife including birds, possums, reptiles, echidnas and other species requiring medical care.

Each animal admitted receives individual assessment and tailored treatment from our veterinary team.  Every animal that comes through our doors will benefit from the kindness of others.

How can I donate?

You can support wildlife care by:

• Donating securely online
• Making a direct bank transfer
• Calling our Centre during office hours
• Donating in person

Every contribution, large or small, directly supports wildlife veterinary treatment.

Will I receive a receipt?

Yes. Online donations generate an automatic receipt.
For bank transfers, please email confirmation of your payment so we can issue your tax receipt.

Can I make a regular donation?

Yes. Regular giving provides reliable support for ongoing wildlife treatment and allows our clinical team to plan care resources with confidence.

Can I donate in memory or on behalf of someone?

Yes. Donations can be made in honour or memory of a loved one. If you would like an acknowledgement sent, please contact our team at   [email protected].

Can businesses support the Centre?

Yes. We welcome corporate partnerships and sponsorships that contribute to wildlife veterinary care across South Australia. Please contact us to discuss opportunities.

Can I donate items instead of money?

We sometimes accept approved in-kind donations. Please check our Wish List page or contact our team to confirm current clinical needs before donating goods.

A Final Thank You

Every donation represents trust in our team and compassion for South Australian wildlife. Your support ensures that injured and vulnerable animals receive professional veterinary care when they need it most.

Together, we can continue providing free wildlife treatment and giving native animals the chance to return safely to the wild.
