Veterinary Care, Rehabilitation & Release
Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Centre's main goal is to treat, rehabilitate and release wildlife that may have become injured, ill or orphaned from their natural environment. Where appropriate, we may also need to arrange long term care for animals which can’t be released directly back into the wild.
Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Centre is a not for profit organisation and our treatment and rehabilitation services rely solely on the generosity and support of others.
All animals need to be brought to us; we do not go out and rescue animals.
Education & Awareness
We believe that knowledge and understanding is an important factor to securing the future of our wildlife. The Centre is involved with education for school students, carers, and vet students.
If seeking work experience or placement due to educational requirements, please email us for further information. Places are strictly limited, with preference given to veterinary students. All placements do involve time within the Plympton Vet Clinic (small animals).
We regret to advise individual or group tours of AKAWC are not available to the public at this time due to the nature of our vet work.

Research & Development
Sustainability is key. Aside from saving the lives of our precious wildlife when they are in need, Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Centre supports research into the medical treatments and key health factors for koalas to help ensure their long term survival.
